Single trip ski insurance

Single trip ski insurance policies are specifically designed for a single ski holiday. They are suitable for single travellers, couples or families and cover all ages from children through to skiers and boarders who are aged up to 79.

A single trip ski insurance policy is not designed exclusively as a skiing insurance or snowboarding insurance. The policy has been "loaded" to include the risk associated with a wide range of winter sports activities including x-country skiing, tobogganing and ice skating. Its important when purchasing your policy that you review the activities table associated with each policy to ensure that the activity you wish to partake in is covered.

The ski insurance policies we feature are sourced from a number of underwriters in order to give true choice and variety. Each will differ slightly in terms of levels of ski cover and this in turn will determine the price. The price shown on our site is the full price for the policy and includes the insurance premium tax which is charged at 20% by the Government.

Our approach has always been to offer the traveller the choice when it comes to travel insurance. Following a simple quote stage where we determine your needs, the policy options are laid out on screen in such a way that you can easily see what is covered and more importantly whats not covered under each policy.

Customers who are interested in the most cost effective options have the ability to further reduce the policy prices by by removing elements such as baggage and cancellation cover and increasing the excesses.

It is important to purchase your single trip ski travel insurance as soon as your holiday is booked as the policy will provide protection should you need to cancel your holiday in advance of going away and make sure the policy has sufficient levels of cancellation cover should the need arise. Often we hear of clients choosing the cheapest insurance option and then being out of pocket when they came to claim as they had paid for a holiday far in excess of the limits of the policy.

Also make sure that you choose a policy which has the right levels of cover for baggage and ski equipment. If you are taking lots of gear and you wanted it covered then you will have to pay slightly more.

Many travellers don’t understand the difference between their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and a Winter Sports Policy. Whilst your EHIC card will provide care in a state run hospital, most accidents on the mountain result in your being taken to a local clinic. Your costs there will not be covered and neither will the costs of getting you off the mountain. If your injuries are serious your EHIC card makes no provision to get you home and will not provide costs for someone to accompany you.

17% of travellers wrongly assume that they dont need insurance when travelling in Europe because they have a European Health Insurance Card, EHIC (2)

The website results pages however are laid out in such a way as to make it easy to make an informed choice. If however you need assistance with the levels of cover, the sporting activities or wish to clarify which policy is the most suitable for a specific medical condition then please call www.skicover.com on 08434 590 878. We are open until 8pm, 7 days a week.
