Jackson Hole - Information

Resort Information Jackson Hole

Set amongst the spectacular and world famous Grand Teton Mountain Range, Jackson Hole ski resort can only be described as a ski mecca! And this is not forgetting the rip-roaring Wild West of downtown Jackson with its raised wooden boardwalks, cowboy feel and colourful nightlife. Jackson Hole ski resort is situated in Wyoming, 20 minutes drive from downtown Jackson Hole, about 7 hours driving from Denver and 4 hours from Salt Lake City. Jackson does have its own airport which is serviced by flights from both Denver and Salt Lake City. The resort of Jackson Hole has a big reputation to live up to: one of North America’s biggest vertical drops, endless backcountry skiing, great snow and some considerable advanced skiing terrain. Beginners will enjoy Snow King and Apres Vous beginner areas and miles of groomed cruisers will please the intermediates, but Jackson is better known for its deep powder and steep terrain! Revered by experts the world over with the famous Corbet's Couloir.Skiing in Jackson Hole has a huge reputation for its gnarly terrain. You can't miss Corbett's Couloir on the Rendezvous Mountain. The black runs concentrated in the area - 'Bivouac', 'Central Chute' and 'Cheyenne Gully'- are all steep and glorious, sometimes the Tsunami bumps appear, sometimes you could wake to find twelve inches of pristine powder! To the left you'll find more open spaces - 'Tensleep Bowl' is a good place for finding freshies if you're early. Après Vous Mountain is the gentler companion to Rendezvous; the terrain is a lot easier going and a place to go when you have been humbled. St John's is a wonderfully pitched cruiser on which to build speed without too much concern. There are some widely spaced trees here to wend your way through in a relaxed fashion, so you can pretty much ski where you please.
